The average width of the rapids is 25 to 40 meters.

The rapids are known for their large and, on occasion, challenging trout. A typical Kapeenkoski brown trout is around 40 to 50 cm long, and, often in very good condition.

The largest trout caught annually are approximately 70 cm in length – that is, real dream fish weighing several kilos. The best time to catch large trout is from June to the end of September.

Unsurprisingly, fly fishermen will arrive at Kapeenkoski at the beginning of June with streamers in their fly boxes. In the early summer, high water levels may present their own challenges to the fly fisherman, but keep in mind that big water means big fish.

In July, the best time of day to catch fish is in the reduced daylight hours, and the fly fisherman should be awake during those hours. On summer evenings, it is a good idea to observe what birds are doing.

In August, when water levels are low, fly fishermen pick up pupae imitations and other tiny flies from their fly boxes as brown trout are typically interested in such patterns when at the evening.

Besides the brown trout, fishermen are also interested in zander(pike perch) running up the river system. Every summer, the largest zander caught weigh up to four or even five kilos.

When caught in flowing water, a zander several kilos in weight is a nice experience.

In addition to zander and trout, perch, grayling, and pike also swims in the area.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”19″][vc_single_image image=”3517″ img_size=”full” style=”vc_box_border” border_color=”black” onclick=”link_image”][vc_empty_space height=”19″]
Contact us and ask for more information!
[vc_empty_space height=”19″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1620052161132{padding-top: 20px !important;background-color: rgba(255,255,255,0.5) !important;*background-color: rgb(255,255,255) !important;}”]

  [vc_single_image image=”3236″ img_size=”full” style=”vc_box_border” border_color=”black” onclick=”link_image”]

[vc_empty_space height=”19″]

  [vc_single_image image=”3039″ img_size=”full” style=”vc_box_border” border_color=”black” onclick=”link_image”]

[vc_empty_space height=”19″][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row content_width=”grid” css=”.vc_custom_1620052950024{margin-top: -100px !important;}”][vc_column width=”1/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1620052155250{padding-top: 20px !important;background-color: rgba(255,255,255,0.5) !important;*background-color: rgb(255,255,255) !important;}”][vc_empty_space height=”19″][vc_column_text] FISHING FOR BROWN TROUT [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Kapeenkoski fishing area is around 1.5 km in length and offers a wealth of possibilities for trout fishing.
